STORA ENSO

About the project

The project involves construction of the recycling line for recovery the cellulose fibers from materials difficult to process.
Stora Enso, a leading global paper production group, has joined forces with Tetra Pak, a leading food packaging producer, to set up a beverage carton recycling line. Stora Enso will recover the fibrous materials, which will be separated from the rest of the used packaging, to be reused as raw material on the same site, while Tetra Pak will ensure the recycling and reuse of the polymers and the aluminum present in the packaging. The new recycling line is expected to have a capacity of 50,000 tonnes of UBC (Used Beverage Carton). It will be the first facility of its kind in Europe.
