CONSTRUCTION PERIOD
2017 - 2020
The project involved the construction of the Riverview housing development in Gdańsk. The complex of seven residential and retail buildings includes 232 flats, 21 residential units, and 29 office units. Situated on the banks of the Motława River, it is characterized by the high building standard and carefully designed site development. Thanks to close cooperation with the City’s Heritage Conservation Officer, the appearance of the development refers to the historical character of the location. Several different colours of ceramics and types of fibre-cement panels were used in this project in order to recreate and emphasize the impression of the historic division of the façade. The roof was made of ceramic tiles with a simple flat form, in red and anthracite colours. Everything is complemented by subdued grey cladding of window frames, elements of flashings, chimneys and railings. Structures of the buildings are largely based on a steel-reinforced concrete frame. The development reflects the idea of sustainable and environmentally friendly architecture. It is the first LEED-certified residential development in the Tri-City. Its construction was implemented with the use of eco-solutions, ensuring, among others, savings in electric energy and water consumption, reduction of carbon dioxide emission and air quality control. The project area was planted with 84 mature trees, 6,000 shrubs and over 13,000 perennials. All buildings are friendly for the disabled. In 2021, the Riverview development was awarded the first prize in the Best Architectural Development in Gdańsk competition in 2018–2019.
